Rosa Smith nee Enriques was born in Jamaica, the descendant of Sephardi Pirates. She worked tirelessly for the Fremantle community, founding The Sailors’ Rest, an organisation designed to provide opportunities for seamen to spend their leisure hours in comfortable and inviting surroundings.
